I really cannot with Cristiano Ronaldo, but GOOD LORD he is good at what he does. He drilled in a penalty kick -- which Lionel Messi could not -- and scored a straight-up goal, and then booted a set piece over and around the Spanish wall and past the goalie. That's a hat trick with three different flavors. His legs are on point AND skilled.

I really like Iceland's kit this year. Argentina's is okay, but I ALSO don't know why the home and away jerseys need to be SO different. The home jerseys for Argentina are, famously, the pale blue and white vertical stripe, and these are... not. They're not BAD, but they're a departure. Also: These men are attractive.

Poor Messi. I find him more rootable than Ronaldo, for some reason, and the fact that he's been so weak on penalty kicks in big moments lately makes me sad for him. These are Grief Guts, and while they are pleasant to look at, I am not enjoying it on EVERY level. Just MANY levels.

The orange shoes have NO relation to Iceland's kit, but DO match the goalie, and I have to say that I appreciate that little attempt to tie it all together. Also, that chiseled Icelander is GOOD LOOKING, and Messi is somewhat hot in his intensity as well.
