Pink at the Tonys

Qween Jean

Qween Jean is the first openly trans person to win a Tony (for costumes, for Cats). HUZZAH. She looks amazing, and I am SO sad I can't marinate in the joy of the Jellicles, ballroom-style. Maybe it'll travel.

Tovah Feldshuh

A classic dish!

Cole Escola

This is somehow a cross between Endora and Barbara Harris in the original Freaky Friday, and as usual it's a total gas.

Rick Edinger

I LOVE this. Hear, hear for the two-tone pink.

Jeremy Pope

I assume he changed because his dramatic outfit was difficult to wrangle -- this is good, but that one was SO memorable.

The "Leading Lady Marmalade" idea was sort of cute, but I missed a lot of the lyrics and references in there. Maybe that's just my ears/my audio setup. The folks in the room seemed to get it just fine, and that's really who it was for - the opening number used SO many people who were nominated, or in nominated shows, or just actors in current Broadway productions in GENERAL. What a love letter.

I enjoyed her doing her signature aerial tricks, but did not think we needed to involve Neil Patrick Harris. I think he kinda makes the room go cold, partly because he was such an unpleasant Tonys host when he did it.

I partly take it back -- her picking him up with her legs was great.

Ariana DeBose and P!nk

The hat on Pink really amuses me. And Ariana Debose ripping away her pants. Pink leaned all the way into the full hosting experience, and I appreciated it.

This is one of my favorite things that ANYONE wore.

She ALSO made a very convincing case for herself as Velma Kelly.

Pink, I am a sucker for your sparkles.

Pink, I am still a sucker for your metallics, especially when it looks a bit like wrapping paper.

Did she perform with the Cats, or did she just wear this for the backstage promo?

This was not the big finish I hoped for; it's a misguided craft project. Pink! You, a consummate showman, surely know the power of going out with a bang!
