# Yara Shahidi Goes Typically Funky, With Mixed Results

Let's be honest: This Off White gown is not great. It is trippy. It is, indeed, *off*, and is what you'd hallucinate if you were Alice In Wonderland and you pulled a DRINK ME and then stared unblinkingly at my kitchen floor. But: A black-and-white color story? Superhuman powers of selling oddball silhouettes that should work *more* against her, but don't? And stellar lipstick? This is some FULL Mini-Monae action right here (with notes of Taraji P. Henson around the eyes), even if it wasn't intentional. And now I want Janelle and Yara to team up on their own *Gilmore Girls*\-esque indie flick -- written by someone entirely different, and hell, bring Taraji -- so that they can take movies AND the red carpet by storm together.

Later, for her presenting job, she changed into a Bibhu Mohapatra that she may have found easier to wrangle:

The pelvis here is confusing me. It looks like someone stepped on a cat. I LOVE the rest of the skirt but cannot help wondering what she spilled on her chest that she had to steal the rented linens to cover it.
