(Photo by Ron Galella/Ron Galella Collection via Getty Images) We begin with the era when her career was heating up, with a Tony nomination for an Arthur Miller play. Her film roles to this point were minor, so this was a big deal. She looks like a babe and chose a timeless dress. ## 2000 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-156091451-1764879323.jpg) Allison Janney during The 6th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, United States. (Photo by Ron Galella/Ron Galella Collection via Getty Images) Now we hop to the SAG Awards which she attended with the cast of *American Beauty*, which won the ensemble award. This might be a little casual, but again, she wasn't there with a lot of individual accolades behind her. YET. Also, this is tiny sequins so I bet it looked fancier in person than in this pic. ## 2000 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-156091730-1764879335.jpg) Allison Janney during 52nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, United States. (Photo by Ron Galella/Ron Galella Collection via Getty Images) And here, her first Emmy for *The West Wing*. She won three in a row, first two for Supporting Actress and then one as Lead, where she lost, then won again, then lost again before the show ended. I could not love this more and I suspect she could wear this again now. ## 2001 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-104951880-1764879617.jpg) Allison Janney during The 58th Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals at Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, United States. (Photo by SGranitz/WireImage) Our first hiccup is whatever this is doing to her right boob. It looks painful. ## 2001 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-104801583-1764879628-scaled.jpg) Allison Janney during The 7th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, United States. (Photo by SGranitz/WireImage for Turner) She looks good in every color, but look what a genius purse she chose. It's SO interesting but also doesn't ever distract you from how good the rest of it is. ## 2004 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-184499364-1764879279.jpg) Allison Janney during 2004 Vanity Fair Oscar Party at Mortons in Beverly Hills, California, United States. I'm just trying to keep it fresh in here, folks. ## 2005 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-112389688-1764879487.jpg) Allison Janney during 59th Annual Tony Awards - Arrivals at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, New York, United States. (Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic) Tremendous. Not a blocky white pump in sight. ## 2011 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-123414362-1764879399.jpg) DEAUVILLE, FRANCE - SEPTEMBER 02: US actress Alison Janney (C) and actress Viola Davis (L) arrive at the opening ceremony of the 37th Deauville American Film Festival on September 2, 2011 in Deauville, France. (Photo by Francois Durand/Getty Images) I don't know who the dude is -- it is not Jamie Lannister, which was my original guess -- but I mostly chose this picture because Viola Davis is in it and I love them both and would like to will a movie into existence where they are the co-leads. ## 2012 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-137921154-1764879378.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JANUARY 29: Actresses Emma Stone, Octavia Spencer, and Allison Janney pose in the press room during the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at The Shrine Auditorium on January 29, 2012 in Los Angeles, California. I actually really like this whole cast and wish they could get together again for a different movie. ## 2012 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-140066608-1764879356.jpg) WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA - FEBRUARY 26: Actress Allison Janney arrives at the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party hosted by Graydon Carter at Sunset Tower on February 26, 2012 in West Hollywood, California. (Photo by Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images) I don't mind this in theory, but she's worn better versions of this color AND better versions of this cut, and I think in this slideshow it suffers a bit by comparison. ## 2016 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-607639738-1764879152.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - SEPTEMBER 18: Actress Allison Janney attends the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards at Microsoft Theater on September 18, 2016 in Los Angeles, California. I wish the whole top were made of that. ## 2017 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-844509698-1764879119.jpg) TORONTO, ON - SEPTEMBER 08: Allison Janney attends the "I, Tonya" premiere during the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival at Princess of Wales Theatre on September 8, 2017 in Toronto, Canada. (Photo by Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images) Very groovy. I like to pretend the bottom part is in the shape of the NYC skyline or something, even though I know that's not true. Welcome to my delusions. ## 2018 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-901645484-1764879108.jpg) PALM SPRINGS, CA - JANUARY 02: Actress Allison Janney attends the 29th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala at Palm Springs Convention Center on January 2, 2018 in Palm Springs, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) This feels like a cousin to the one she wore 6 or 7 slides ago. It's fine? It's a little RROWR, but then again, that WAS one of her lines in 10 Things I Hate About You, so. ## 2018 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-903983764-1764879086.jpg) SANTA MONICA, CA - JANUARY 11: Actor Allison Janney attends The 23rd Annual Critics' Choice Awards at Barker Hangar on January 11, 2018 in Santa Monica, California. She carries it off, at least. ## 2018 F ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-926800966-1764879031.jpg) SANTA MONICA, CA - MARCH 03: Actor Allison Janney attends the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards on March 3, 2018 in Santa Monica, California. (Photo by Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic) I prefer something a little loosier and/or goosier at this particular event, but again, she wears the hell out of color. ## 2018 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-927233790-1764879042.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CA - MARCH 04: Allison Janney attends the 90th Annual Academy Awards at Hollywood & Highland Center on March 4, 2018 in Hollywood, California. Forgive me but I'm not sure that necklace quite works with this gown. ## 2019 ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/12/GettyImages-1082129128-1764879532.jpg) SANTA MONICA, CA - JANUARY 13: Allison Janney attends The 24th Annual Critics' Choice Awards at Barker Hangar on January 13, 2019 in Santa Monica, California.
