Pierce Brosnan is not in *The Fugitive*, and was a year away from being anointed the next James Bond. I like to imagine Barbara Broccoli was at home flipping through *People* magazine when she stumbled upon a photo of him at this event and thought, "Well, there's no Remington Steele to get in the way NOW," and hurtled to her wall-mounted corded phone.
