I drove up to Central California this weekend (lovely!) for a funeral (a far less positive development) and although this chat would have probably been better served at the beginning of the summer, it occured to me as I drove through a VERY desolate part of the state. (I took a less desolate but longer route home, in fact, due to the unnerving desolation.) Do you have good stories from your road trips of yore? Lore of yore, one might even put it. Did anything thrilling -- good or bad -- befall you? Did you see anything unexpectedly amazing, or even just have a surprisingly delicious sandwich? Let's gather around the campfire and tell road trip stories.
