## Daniel Craig

I wish his tux shirt wasn't all janky and untucked, but whatever. He doesn't have time for perfection. He only has time for making out in the limo.

## Sean Connery

Of course, the retrospective has to begin with the original. He has been voted Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure (Ewan McGregor is preparing his self-nomination right now). From 1962 to 1967, he did one Bond film a year: Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, and You Only Live Twice. That's a pretty blistering pace; ergo, he quit for a while, but came back after the George Lazenby movie to do Diamonds are Forever.

## David Niven

![david niven bond](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2015/10/bond-david-niven-afternoon-chat.jpg)

He does count, even though his Casino Royale was not done through the same company that's produced the other 24 Bond films. [The Wikipedia page for this one is full of dishy info](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casino%5FRoyale%5F%281967%5Ffilm%29?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), but basically, it sounds confusing as hell and also as if it was a satire. I mean, it starred Peter Sellers and Woody Allen, Deborah Kerr, Orson Welles, and Jacqueline Bisset. And Burt Bacharach wrote the score, which is where "The Look of Love" came from -- which I never knew until right now.

## George Lazenby

![george lazenby bond](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2015/10/bond-george-lazenby-afternoon-chat.jpg)

On Her Majesty's Secret Service came out in 1969, and is considered by a lot of people to be a really good film. I've never seen it, somehow. George Lazenby sometimes gets a rep as being a disastrous Bond because he only did one movie, but in fact, he had a seven-movie deal but apparently vacated it due to bad advice from his agent. The reason Connery did one more movie was because the producers felt like Lazenby leaving so soon made the franchise look bad. (This all per the James Bond Wiki, so take it with a grain of whatever substance you feel it deserves.) Lazenby doesn't seem as DREAMY as one might associate with some Bonds, but that doesn't mean he wasn't good; he is, however, probably the one with which modern audiences are least familiar.

## Roger Moore

![Roger Moore bond](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2015/10/bond-roger-moore-afternoon-chat-2.jpg)

I always enjoyed that Roger Moore seemed both entrenched in it and yet also raising a sardonic eyebrow at it all.

## Roger Moore

For some reason I have two Roger Moore photos. This does make me laugh a bit, though. I kind of like a Gentleman Bond who only uses a pistol and prefers not to crease his tux.

## Timothy Dalton

![timothy dalton](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2015/10/thelivingdaylights3bond-timothy-dalton-afternoon-chat90_0.jpg)

Timothy here was offered the job for OHMSS, but he turned it down because at 25 he believed he was too young. (I like how altruistic that makes him seem.) The boom swung back around for two movies in the 80s, then he quit in 1994 while his third movie was being developed. He is probably my least favorite, although I LOVED him on Chuck, so we'll always have that. I also -- in the Chuck era -- once saw him wandering around my supermarket looking very vexed by the layout. It thrilled me.

## Pierce Brosnan

![pierce brosnan bond](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2015/10/bond-pierce-brosnan-2.jpeg)

I was SO enamored of him from Remington Steele, so he was for a long time my ideal Bond. I don't know how great his movies were -- although I like Goldeneye, in part because Alan Cumming is amusing to me always -- but GOOD GRIEF he was dreamy. He might've fit the mold better in theory in the movies he was given. \[I think Thomas Crown Affair might be my personal Pierce Brosnan high, anyway.\]

This promotional shot is just sublime, though. He looks like a dangerous Vegas magician.

## Daniel Craig

And here is a love letter to you all from Daniel Craig. He really cares, y'all.

[Your Afternoon Man-Chat: Daniel Craig and The James BondsLet Daniel Craig stare right through you into your darkest self for a second. Then let him love you anyway over a few martinis. THEN, let's discuss your favorite Bond and Bond movies of all time. Setting aside the last picture in this slideshow, which is almost unfair, which actor is your ultimate 007? Which man's filmography is consistently the best? DISCUSS. Then drink in the last slide again.![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2015/10/gettyimages-494331766.jpg)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/your-afternoon-man-chat-daniel-craig-and-the-james-bonds-10-2015/)
