# Your Afternoon Man/Chat: Here's John Malkovich in a Hat

I freely admit that I have/had a (weird? perhaps) attraction to John Malkovich. This may be because I saw *Dangerous Liaisons* at a pivotal age, but I think he is sexy. Here, Informative Caption says he is "filming scenes for crime drama *Ripley* in Venice, Italy." And as far as I can tell, *Ripley* is not about Sigourney Weaver's *Alien* character coming back (?? I didn't see the last few *Alien* movies, but I assume she's...dead?? Who can say!) to earth and teaming up with John Malkovich to solve crimes -- although I would for sure watch that -- or a gritty reboot of *Ripley's Believe It Or Not*, where at the end the Malkovich character says, "Wow, I can't believe it!" to the murderer. It also is not *technically* related to a[ 2003 movie I've never heard which adapted one of the Patricia Highsmith Ripley novels, as in ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ripley%27s%5FGame%5F%28film%29?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)*The Talented Mr.*, wherein Malko played the Matt Damon role of, yes, Ripley. (Where was I, a super-fan of *The Talented Mr. Ripley* and lover of all gentleman con-artist material, when this came out? Presumably the bar.) Anyway, nearly twenty years later and he appears to be making an appearance in the also Patricia Highsmith Ripley series that Andrew "Hot Priest" Scott is doing. Clearly, I will be there! And I think he looks very dashing here. But this is all a very long sidebar into a conversation about: Celebrities you think are hot who may not be *conventionally* accepted as so. Yes, this is the place to confess semi-anonymously that you think Putin is weirdly sexy or whatever! So unburden yourself!
