It's been a very Broadway week so far at GFY, between *Funny Girl* and *Spring Awakening*, so why NOT end with the divine Andre de Shields and Denée Benton announcing the Drama League nominees? Not to downplay Denée, who is very talented, but Andre is literally golden here. He's inexorably linked with *Ain't Misbehavin'*, but won his first Tony in 2019 for *Hadestown*, and you may have glimpsed him in that special homage number in *Tick, Tick... Boom*! He and Denée look like they are dressed for wildly different events, as if he thought it was happening in the PM and then decided not to fiddle with his ensemble, because what the hell, BE THE AWARD. I love it. What a way to end my Tuesday.

[The nominee list for this is so comprehensive](https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/2022-Drama-League-Awards-Nominations-Announced--Full-List-20220425?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) that it almost feels like it's a list of everything that was available. Sincerely, even just the list of distinguished performance candidates includes everyone you can imagine, including Beanie and Jane Lynch, even though their show only officially opened this week. Come one, come all, I guess? Maybe this is how you guarantee a good turnout.
