As usual, she has uncanny powers, especially at the ripe young age of almost-21. Something about her aura makes outfits seem either good, great, or just less absurd. But this is a Bridge on the River Cray. EVEN THE GOLDEN GIRLS would be like, "Seems a bit much, no?"

I think the vibe is a nod to her cover, though. Here is a tight shot on her face -- which, by the way, gives me total Rosie Perez vibes all of a sudden...

... and here is her Variety cover. I think the look at the party is more successful, in part because WHY is she eating her thumbnail? Most people are trying to QUIT doing that. Also, I'm not sure why all these covers -- you'll see -- look like they were shot in a dream sequence from a Heart video.

Although actually, this cover is pretty good. I don't think CGM is generally that great a model, but the wy this is stylized gives her a presence.

I don't love the bodice on this, and I think the cut stumpifies her, but overall this is one of her better outings in recent history. Also, she told Variety a story about a co-star telling her she was too fat for him to date in real life, and SCREW THAT GUY. I'm sure the Internet has already figured out who it is, or tried to, and pilloried him. What a jerk. A shitty thing to do to a woman of any age, but she was only 15, still so malleable to the forces around her. YOU DINK.

Heal thyself with John Boyega's visage. On this cove, he looks like he's in a video game about Denzel Washington's early years. And I would BUY IT.
