This, too, is very 90s, in the sense that an aging New York socialite would have worn this to the opening of the opera in the 90s and then closely examined her photo in the style section the next day and decided maybe she didn't really like this dress much after all.

And no one, of course, loves the 90s more than Marc. This is very much in the Reality Bites Vintage Shopper I Carry a LunchBox as a Purse 90s category -- the one that I personally cleaved to with great enthusiasm, with the exception of the lunchbox bag, although I did LIKE lunchboxes as a style statement back in the day. There was an indie coffee shop in Santa Monica I used to go to -- god, this whole sentence is so 90s -- and their walls had vintage metal lunchboxes all over them, and my bf and I thought it was just the ultimate. Simpler times. Well. Not emotionally. But that's a whole other story.
