Last we saw Hudson, he was in a Jacquemus jacket -- a jacquet -- at a Bulgari event, and many of you pointed out correctly that the design was a poor choice because it obscured his neck... around which hung a hella-expensive snake necklace. Indeed, I had no idea there even was a necklace until the next day; I assumed he was just showing off his diamond earrings because that's all I could see. That's a pretty big styling faux-pas when you're there on Bulgari's dime, to promote them and their bling, and the primary red-carpet photos don't show it.
That context makes me wonder if Hudson showing up to TIFF in a t-shirt, with a VERY VERY CLEAR view of another snake necklace, is a sartorial apology. A make-up gesture. Because there is nothing else to this outfit BUT that (well, and a Balenciaga logo, but it's fairly subtle), and when he went inside for his Q&A, he donned a black cardigan with a substantial v-neck to make ample room for it. (By the by, every clip I've seen of that Q&A has been charming and funny, with plenty of behind-the-scenes tidbits. They're all over Reddit, if you're interested. He is gregarious and engaging, and I hope the rigors of fame never wear on him.)
But then Yaga premiered and they KIND OF did it again?!? With a similar jacket? At least it wasn't a Bulgari event this time, but my dudes, take care with that.
