I love the story behind the new Hannah Montana 20th anniversary special, which is what Miley is attending here -- thus the shirt with her own face on it. Per Variety:
“I learned this terrible habit — but I actually think it was good advice — from Dolly,” she says, referring to the country legend she calls her godmother. “She told me that if you want something to happen, promote it before it exists. Then no one can say no. So I just started promoting a ‘Hannah Montana’ 20th-anniversary special that literally did not exist.”
A Disney exec later says that Miley basically willed this special into existence. This is very clever -- because Miley is right, people are ABSOLUTELY going to watch this. (I am too old to have watched Hannah Montana, so not me. But people!) I think it is sweet and savvy that Miley has never disavowed her Hannah Montana roots; it is cute and wholesome (and financially brilliant) that she realized what an opportunity this was and how much people would like it.
And this look is perfect for this very specific event: VERY Sparkly and festive, and, of course, with the perfect vintage tee. Someone cue up "The Best of Both Worlds."
