Rami Kadi got a few gowns placed last night, which is impressive -- maybe later I'll post the runway show and we can get a sense of it all. This is a super choice on Tiffany; it's got a lot of verve and it's creative and it matches her level of personality. Honestly, the hair seems too staid for her.

Careful, though. Don't personality your boob right out of there.
Selma Blair in Ralph & Russo

Selma went public last year (?) with an MS diagnosis, and the cane here is custom and I gather something she frequently needs to use? Anyway, this is a flawless amount of drama, as far as I'm concerned (I do not mean that her MS is drama; just that she built around the cane very well).
Lupita in Oscar de la Renta

Lupita Nyong'o
Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 24 Feb 2019
We waited all night to see Lupita in this, because for whatever reason she arrived late to the Oscars and didn't get to the red carpet, and didn't do anything during the show. It's pretty, and her face is divine.

Winnie Harlow is beautiful, a very adept model, and someone who usually can rise above any level of nonsense. This is not one of those times. She is lost in there.

I assume that hand is reaching in to fluff this to its best advantage. It's just kinda hanging there right now. Lady Holiday will be very envious of this design, although I'm not sure that's a compliment.

From the front, this looks pinched, though. But remember when she built a Fug Madness run off of looking crazy at this party a few years ago? We're in a much better place now.

I wish this were prettier. Honestly, that top feels like the kind of thing someone should have worn with skinny black pants -- and we might not have liked it, but it would have been more visually interesting than a red dress with a skin belt.

This is the fourth one of the night for Celia K. Nicely done by that team, although this one looks a bit like a hastily duped Giambattista Valli.

It's hard to tell really -- I just couldn't resist the dramatic angle -- but I THINK the hair and lipstick are helping this? The color is so blah, and the top MIGHT be styled to look like it's romantically falling off. I don't know. I appreciate it, at least.
Halsey in Vivienne Westwood

I do not think her hair could look worse. This whole thing, in fact, feels sloppy to me. One hallmark of Halsey's bad fashion is that we're usually at least saying, "BUT HOW GORGEOUS IS HER FACE," and here that's getting lost too.

Bless her dramatically sleeved heart. This may sound crazy, because it's so much fabric, but I think this needs to be a touch longer, maybe even knee-length and sleek.

I like her sleeves, and how SUSPICIOUS she looks all the time. I mentioned once that she's the face I think of when we write the Bea character in The Royal We, and I stand by that.

Objectively this is fine, but the issue I have with it is that I very rarely dig lace. So it's a whole LOT of something that isn't my personal bag.

This gown is from the 2016 collection, and is based on the works of Alexander Pushkin, if you are curious. I wish we could redo the bodice so that it doesn't need the dark netting; the way it cuts across her chest distracts me.

This is new Marchesa. It is not a great Marchesa. It is definitely, to me, not worth the grossness of dealing with a Marchesa that is still legally tied to (and lining the pockets of) Harvey Weinstein.

This isn't that big of a statement, but it's sizably feathered. It just can't compete with Lupita's in size or quantity, so it seems wee by comparison.
