The Devil(s) Wore New Clothes at the Afterparty

Anne Hathaway stuck with Louis Vuitton for the Devil Wears Everything But Prada afterparty, but wisely switched out of her very large red frock into something more navigable inside a small venue. (She's standing with Aline Brosh McKenna, screenwriter of both films, and showrunner of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. We won't mention that she also wrote We Bought a Zoo. We will, however, mention that she seems to be framing her erogenous zones with zippers and is wearing a belt that doesn't actually buckle.)  I like this switch for Anne; the muted, shiny pattern is appealing, and the dress appears to be something she can sponge clean if anyone crashes into her with a plate of hors d'oeuvres.

Emily Blunt switched it up for Balmain:

John Krasinski apparently did walk the red carpet with her, but only briefly; the photos came in after I finished up that post, but I like this one where she has clearly gotten out of the van that drove her there standing up, and they're laughing. However, I think this outfit is SMASHING, and I would have worn it all night, not least because I could arrive at the event with a seatbelt on like a normal person. The skirt is great, the tights are fun, the top is serving up a touch of the '80s shoulder, it feels VERY Cranky Fashion Editor (complimentary), and the earrings are a hoot. It's all very considered and cool, and to me more effective than the yeti labia. But I guess somewhere out there, a yeti feels truly seen, so who am I to take that from them.
