To borrow from the life of Susan Lucci, THE STREAK IS OVER. Beyonce finally won Album of the Year at the Grammys for Cowboy Carter, a foray into country music that pays homage to its origins and is a beautifully realized record from start to finish. A female firefighter with the L.A.F.D. got to present it and her eyes bugged out before she read the card; it was very exciting. Between that and getting the Eaton and Pali fires 100 percent contained, what a nice finish that was to a truly HELLACIOUS period of time for our first responders. There may be a lack of humanity at the top right now, but on the ground, there's still genuine goodness taking root and flourishing.
